After some time, the girl is found and locked in the gloomy Oswald Asylum children's psychiatric hospital. After a strange dream in which her beloved cat appears, Fran decides to run away and find her pet, and the only person she can count on for help is her last living relative, Aunt Grace. As befits a thoroughbred adventure game, Fran Bow focuses on exploration, conversations with encountered characters and solving subsequent logical puzzles. However, our heroine's innate intellect and the ability to associate facts are not enough to deal with them. Medicines that Fran obtains at the beginning of the game will also be extremely helpful here. On the one hand, they affect the girl's mind in a very destructive way, and the world before her eyes is filled with blood, death and terrifying figures. Thanks to them, however, among the blood-stained walls and dead animals, Fran also notices a number of extremely helpful clues, invisible in her "normal" state. The Fran Bow game features original, hand-drawn 2D graphics in a style somewhat reminiscent of Tim Burton's early productions. The whole thing is complemented by a number of interesting visual treatments, such as sequences shot exclusively in black and white, a shaky camera or character animations resembling the movement of paper puppets.
