Description

Updated release with MTBB v2 subs. Not affiliated with the original release’s uploader.

From SCY:

- 1080p -
Audio Track 1 (Default): English 5.1 FLAC
Audio Track 2: Japanese 5.1 FLAC
Audio Track 3: Japanese 2.0 AAC (Engrish Eradication Edition)
Audio Track 4: English Commentary 2.0 FLAC

Subtitle Track 1 (Default): English Signs & Songs (.ASS)
Subtitle Track 2: English Dialogue [notCommie modified] (.ASS)
Subtitle Track 3: English Dialogue [MTBB modified] (.ASS)

Dual-audio remux featuring my own 1080p encode and modified notCommie/MTBB subtitles. I changed the dialogue styling for both to match my season 1 release. I also added some missing TS and modified signs that were already present. For the songs, I just changed the ED styling and replaced some lyrics (once again to match my season 1 release). Essentially the only difference between notCommie and MTBB is the dialogue, since I made sure the TS and songs are identical in both. Speaking of dialogue, I personally recommend MTBB (paired with the EEE audio) due to better editing and timing. The other track is a bit of a mess (most likely plain retail timing) and I simply couldn’t be bothered to retime the entire thing.

For the encode, I used rescaling, anti-aliasing, denoising and debanding. The heavy noise in particular is by far the biggest complaint I have with the source. BM3D helped a lot, but it’s still pretty gnarly. I did some scenefiltering and ‘froze’ static scenes in an attempt to reduce the bitrate. While very effective per scene, in the long run it didn’t really impact the average bitrate all that much. This source is pretty safe to descale, so if you want something much smaller I suggest going with a 864p encode and AAC/OPUS audio (maybe throw in HEVC as well).

NOTE: a patch with updated elements from MTBB’s v2 release can be downloaded HERE.

Enjoy!
