Description
This is my collection of Death Note fansubs, as released during the show’s initial broadcast run. It features 134 releases from 13 different groups in a variety of qualities, organized by episode number. Filenames have been kept original where possible, with some exceptions (ANFS 15, and probably 16, had two official filenames. Under9000 and W-B’s original filenames are unknown. TW 09 is not the original file). While it is not a comprehensive collection, I hope that this will introduce the greater populace to a variety of different worlds, and allow people to find inspirational and informative moments in Death Note fansubs that actually are real (unlike keikaku means plan). My thanks to everyone who has provided and helped me collect and find these over the years. If you have anything that I am missing, please reach out to me in these comments, on Discord, or via the AniDB Forums.
Known missing releases, in order of most to least annoying to me:
17v1 [Kuro-Hana]: My source for this was corrupted, and I couldn’t get my hands on a clean copy. I am unsure if there were any changes between versions besides the version 1 having an unreadable font.
27-28 [C1]: My best source for C1 got impatient and switched to Kuro-Hana after episode 26. While I know the scripts are out there somewhere, my focus for this was to include released encodes.
09 [TW]: My source for this was broken, and I was unable to find the original XviD encode. A RMVB encode of the release has been included as a stopgap.
13-14 [DG-F]: I couldn’t find any releases from this group, despite AniDB saying that they shouldn’t have been too rare.
14-18 + 21-23 [KubuSubs]: It seems that nobody cared about this group except for when they were fast, and they weren’t consistently fast. I don’t even know how I ended up with an episode 13 of this group to begin with, my file doesn’t match AniDB.
01v1/13v1 [Animanda]: I wanted these because I had a lot of the other v1/v2 pairings for the other groups, but I just did not have the patience to sort through and check which files were 1kb smaller.
Any other random groups on AniDB (Quick&Dirty 36, HnI 14, O-F 01v2/02, WWAHFDNTVFUAUAWGR 36, etc.): These were releases that I felt I had next to no chance of ever finding, and as such gave up on pretty quick.
