Description
Video:
JPN/GBR BD encode
delowpass, rescale, denoise, aa, deband, regrain
The JPN BD suffers from the typical IMAGICA chroma lowpass. Roughly 1/4 of those scenes also have a relatively weak luma lowpass. The chroma is “delowpassed” via the GBR BD, with some extra clean up for most scenes. For the luma the JPN BD was used for the most part, due to it simply looking better than the GBR BD even with the lowpass. Tried to find a correct delowpass for the luma, but gave up because of the lack of sharp edges/lineart. The rescale luckily doesn’t really care that much about the lowpass (in this case). In addititon to that there is also a extreamly weak vertical lowpass, which is essentailly not visible in most scenes even when only locking at the chroma.
The USA BD has its own shenanigans going on. It also has 5 randomly missing frames, cause why not.
The show is a 720p Lanczos3 upscale with the exception of 3 fade transitions which are BicubicSharp. The aa is for scenes like this. The ED got some extra aa together with a dehalo.
I’m a bit unhappy with the detail retention in some parts of the encode. But I suppose that’s what I get for trying to lower the bitrate so much while all that grain is present.
Audio:
jpn - Opus 2.0 @192 VBR [JPN BD]
jpn - Opus 5.1 @320 VBR [JPN BD]
eng - Opus 2.0 @192 VBR [GBR BD]
eng - Opus 5.1 @320 VBR [GBR BD]
Subtitles:
Full Subtitles [gg/TODO] (modified)
Signs/Songs [gg] (modified)
Sourced from YURI. TODO is gg, with 3 grammar erros fixed and swapped positions of the opening lyrics.
Restlyed to Gandhi Sans. Made a few fixes and soft edits during my QC watch. Excluded/commented out some signs for consistancy.
