"Rhino Handmade delivers with a four-disc deluxe reissue expanded with more than three hours of unreleased roof-raising, hickory-smoked rock ânâ soul. The Deluxe Set, which comes packaged in a mock road case, contains Delaney & Bonnie & Friendsâ complete performance at Londonâs Royal Albert Hall, plus a composite of the next nightâs performances at Colston Hall in Bristol, and both the early and late shows from the tourâs final stop at Fairfield Halls in Croydon. Along with unreleased versions of all the songs from the original, this reissue also contains several songs not featured on the 1970 album, including âI Donât Know Whyâ a track the Bramletts penned with Clapton; âMy Baby Specializesâ and âEverybody Loves A Winnerâ from the Bramlettâs debut Home; âGet Ourselves Togetherâ from the coupleâs 1969 follow-up Accept No Substitute; the traditional âWill The Circle Be Unbrokenâ; a cover of Spencer Davis Groupâs âGimme Some Lovinââ; and the instrumental âPigmy.â Each disc is snapped in, inside a fold-out cardboard holder, each in a different color (that matches each CD), and with graphics related to where/when the music was recorded on the front flap. Inside each holder is a different b&w photo of various band members. On the back is listed location and date of each concert, and song title and length. Glyn Johns, who recorded the Colston Hall gig, revisits his experience in the collectionâs detailed liner notes contained in a 46 page spiral flip-up style booklet: âThere is no question that they had an immense effect on popular music, mostly by influencing some of the most successful musicians of the day. The outstanding memory for me is the sound they created. Being an engineer, it had a huge influence on meâthis, coupled with the complexity of the rhythm section and the ease with which they performed. Us Brits had never heard anything so fluid.â Also included are three loose photographs (reproductions) of various band members. "-- discogs
