The Wisconsin-based band was formed in 1967. Initially called the Tennis Shoe Tongue Band, the band shortened its name to Tongue in 1969 and recorded its first album, Hemispheres, on Akarma Records. The guys never became big stars, but their live shows became legendary in the Midwest. They spent about 10 years on tour, playing up to 250 shows a year! They opened for Chuck Berry, Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, and many others. The band broke up in 1976.
