Description:

Textbook in PDF format This book explores the inclusive implementation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) for mineral, oil and gas explorations. In this sense, the book is devoted to demonstrating the capabilities of SAR in geological feature detection without integration with optical remote sensing sensors. In fact, the majority of geologists do not believe in SAR imaging mechanism capabilities in mineral and hydrocarbon explorations without referring to optical remote sensing sensors due to the absence of spectral signature in SAR data. Consequently, the literature involves repeated and similar image-processing tools in mineral and hydrocarbon explorations using optical remote sensing over several decades. In other words, all published research work in geology remote sensing are restricted to commercial software such as ERDAS, The Environment for Visualizing Images (ENVI), etc. This sort of constraint does not allow for further developments in the field of geology remote sensing image processing. Thus, numerous remote sensing geology works in a developed country are ill-defined. Since the initiating of remote-sensing mineralogy applications, there has been no precise algorithm developing to state the quantity of mineral and hydrocarbon explorations in SAR data. This book, consequently, is assigned to providing novel algorithms in mineral and hydrocarbon explorations in SAR data. The majority of the advanced algorithms explored in this book are based on quantum computing. In this view, this book is filling a gap between advanced quantum computing algorithms; microwave remote sensing; mineral and hydrocarbon explorations. For instance, quantum image processing with a new generation of remote-sensing technology such as Sentinel-1, TerraSAR-X data, and polarimetric radar images are implemented to provide precise mineral and hydrocarbon explorations. Key Features: Presents both theoretical and practical applications of various types of remote sensing for hydrocarbon and mineral exploration. Covers specific problems for exploration professionals and provides applications for solving each problem. Includes more than 100 images and figures to help explain the concepts and applications described in the book. Readership: This multidisciplinary reference is useful for oil and gas companies, the mining industry, geoscientists, and coastal and petroleum engineers
