A big improvement of the encoder was found and implemented since the release of episode 01. Starting from episode 02, the encoding quality should be even better. Filtering and Encoding This is a mini encode for Android wa Keiken Ninzuu ni Hairimasu ka??. slow.pics compare: https://slow.pics/c/wHZqXucU (outdated) For filtering, we use a much stronger and much less protective denoise than the main encode using vsdenoise.DFTTest and vsdenoise.bm3d to clean up as many mosquito noise in the source as we can. And then we apply the same aa, dehalo and deband as the main encode. For encoding, we use the latest version of 5fish/SVT-AV1-PSY with --preset 1 --tune 0 for this encode. We use the latest --balancing-q-bias 1 for rate control. Fixed --crf encoding has finally become viable with --balancing-q-bias which is what we use in this encode. Regarding lineart retention, we use a typical set of parameters including --noise-norm-strength 0 --ac-bias 1.0 --variance-md-bias 1 --variance-md-bias-thr 6.9 --chroma-qmc-bias 2 --dlf-bias 1.
