Campaign Series Vietnam is a new turn-based tactical and operational war game focusing on mid-20th century conflicts in Southeast Asia. The series presents battles from 1948–1967. Each scenario takes place on a unique, historical map with nine view modes. The scenario maps are based on topographic maps from this period, created on a hexagonal grid. The hexes are 250 meters wide. Each scenario is based on a carefully researched historical encounter and has a variable number of turns in which you and your opponent attempt to gain the maximum number of victory points, usually by destroying opposing forces or capturing objectives. The game presents a wide range of battle situations, including firebase defense, helicopter attacks, rendezvous engagements, trench defense, armor breakthroughs, battles of attrition, mobile defense, search and destroy, and more. The Vietnam campaign series introduces a wide range of new units with special capabilities, such as helicopters, riverine units, tunnel rats, civilians and supply units. New tactical realities include flight restrictions, no-go zones, IEDs and hidden minefields, tunnels and unconventional warfare. The Campaign Series event engine has been significantly expanded. The dynamic nature of Scripted AI offers a completely new experience and challenge when playing against a computer opponent. The Event Points system allows players to earn Victory Points based on completing tasks, rather than just securing objectives and inflicting losses. There are four low-complexity Boot Camp scenarios designed specifically with new players in mind, with step-by-step instructions on how to play.
