So, as you might know, Bleach has had multiple Blu-ray and streaming releases over the past few years, and all of them suck to the point that the DVDs were the only real option until these 2023 JPBD box sets came out. Well… kind of. They are better than the DVDs in some aspects (less compression and interlacing artifacts, cleaner image, extra details), but worse in others (nuked grain, upscaling smudges, broken lineart, and paradoxically: loss of detail). So it’s always a trade-off. Even trying to fix some of the issues is yet another trade-off, so I’ll eventually just encode both versions: Blu-ray and DVD (under a proper tag, of course). These new JPBDs do get better later on, especially past the 4:3 episodes, but they don’t include any filler episodes, so the only proper way to watch those is on DVD. 1440x1080 (4:3 FHD) HEVC 10-bit AAC q127 I also did a test encode of a 16:9 DVD episode: https://nyaa.si/view/2063502
