Overview
Following his release from a seven-year stretch in prison, Mario Diccara discovers that his affairs with the underworld aren't completely settled. His brother Patrick, a priest, suggests that he stays with elderly Father Etienne in a small village in Ardeche until the conflict blows over. But their plan takes an unexpected turn when Father Etienne dies.

Trama
Dopo sette anni di carcere Mario Diccara è libero, ma avendo ancora alcuni conti in
sospeso con la mala, chiede all'unica persona di cui si fida, suo fratello Patrick, di
trovargli un posto nel quale nascondersi fino a quando le acque si saranno calmate.
L'uomo, che è un prete, gli suggerisce di raggiungere Padre Etienne, che vive in un
paesino dell'Ardèche, un piccolo villaggio sulle Alpi. Mario indossa una tunica da prete e
si mette in viaggio, ma al suo arrivo scopre che Padre Etienne è morto da poco e gli
abitanti del villaggio credono che lui sia il loro nuovo parroco.
