Warner Bros. (USA BD 2008) vs Arrow (USA UHD 2025): Slow.pics (https://slow.pics/c/qXwCfws4) The film featured a DTS digital surround mix during its initial theatrical run, with incompatible theaters presumably using a fallback Dolby Stereo optical track. Given that the film seems to have fully intended to have had a wide release with digital surround, only the 5.1 mix was included for original audio. The lossless 5.1 track on the UHD matches both the theatrical DTS Cinema (APT-X100) track and the 2008 TrueHD 5.1 track, just with a properly discrete LFE (unlike the CDTS) and without heavy dither noise (like the 2008 track). From my limited listening, the Atmos remix sounds great. The compatibility track included with the Atmos mix is a direct downmix (unfortunately not DD-EX) of the new Atmos remix and not a lossy encode of the original 5.1 mix. Thus, I was forced to use this track with its paltry 384 kbps bitrate as no other DD 5.1 track matches. Audio comparison: 5.1 surround (https://slow.pics/c/kInNjPA7) Subtitles from all discs were tonemapped to match the UHD subtitles (#a7a7a7, 65% white). There weren't any major formatting differences between the old English SDH subtitles and the SDH subtitles on the UHD, so only the UHD subtitles were used. Alternate subtitles were included. There were consistent differences in translation throughout, with the non-alternate subtitles matching the PGS where applicable. The chapter stops on the 2008 BD match the 2005 NTSC DVD chapter stops exactly, so the DVD chapter names were used with the 2008 BD chapter times.
