Not sure what to say about this one. It’s a dub from the 80s that had 13 vhs releases, and wasn’t online for the most part except for some segments so I bought and ripped them. The order of the episodes is completely different from the original (if you can call this episode order) and this only covers 26 of the original segments. They are two different dubs; the one labeled Dolmatch Group was released by Goldenbook Video and it has a lot of actors you may recognize from the pool of Harmony Gold VAs. The one labeled VCAT Productions is to my knowledge just the distributor. There’s literally NO credits in any of those 9 tapes, and I have no god damn clue who any of the voices are. Also, the Dolmatch dub is the only one that keep the monkey characters. VCAT only has the fables. It’s worth mentioning that The Ant and The Grasshopper & The Wind and The Sun is the only Dolmatch rip that has HiFi audio, the other 3 Dolmatch tapes were too flawed I guess. These 4 also have worse colors than the VCAT volumes at the production material level which I find weird… As for the VCAT tapes, Volumes 1, 6, and 9 have damage in the 2nd segments. Something like that was only inevitable with used VHS tapes. i wanted to include alternative sources but from what i could find there aren’t any other rips of the damaged segments and I wasn’t willing to seek out more copies of these tapes.
