RELEASE NOTES
The new mono audio on the UHD is sourced from the same transfer as the mono on the old BD/DVDs, but has an entirely new EQ which I much prefer. Additionally, the mono on the old BD has some minor artifacts and sloppy patches which, while mostly inaudible with the EQ of the old BD mono track, can be heard easily when EQ matched to the UHD mono. The new surround track is a decent sounding upmix that isn’t too offensive, but I’d still go for the original mix.
The old master has 13 missing frames that required 11 different edits to sync with the UHD. The commentary track was edited to account for these missing frames, as were the English (UK), Spanish (Latin American), and Portuguese (Brazilian) subtitle tracks from the USA and EUR BDs. Technically, two different PAL DVDs were used for this remux (as the PAL DVD on PTP has some sort of authoring error that removed some of the subtitles listed in the IFO), with the second PAL DVD being used only for the Hungarian VobSub. Special thanks to vevv for converting the VobSubs to PGS for me.
The chapter names are the same between the PAL and NTSC DVDs released by Paramount (the Centennial Edition doesn’t have named chapters). The chapter times have been carried over from the DVDs to the BDs and now to the UHD, so the chapter names were used with the UHD chapter times. These chapter times were adjusted to the nearest I- or P-frame where necessary.
All subtitles tonemapped to match the UHD subtitles exactly (#a7a7a7).
