Description
This is a collection of some bootlegged VHS releases of Mobile Suit Gundam, captured by me at 720x480 h264 and uploaded for historical preservation reasons. It includes:
Gundam 0080 subtitled by SV2
Gundam 08th MS Team subtitled by Cathedral Animation
Gundam 0083 subtitled by Operation X and Nexus Studios
Gundam Chars Counterattack subtitled by Operation X
Gundam F-91 by an unknown subtitler
Gundam Wing subtitled by several groups (episodes 1-4, 13-20, and 25-28 missing)
Gundam X subtitled by Central Anime (the original VHS run, not the DVD version 2s)
Zeta Gundam 1-24 subtitled by Lupin Gang Anime and Nexus Studios
and Zeta Gundam 1-12 unsubtitled, with video from the original TV run, commercials included.
This collection can and should be compared and combined with additional sources like (the Fansubmarine uploads on the Internet Archive)[https://archive.org/details/fansubmarine?tab=collection&query=gundam], but this is just more me trying to get what is in my private collection out there for the rest of the world to enjoy.
Additional notes:
Zeta 1-12 is a collection of first broadcast TV airings without subtitles, and all episodes except 7 have all the commercials intact
08th MS Team is based on a translation by David Fleming (SV2)
0080 5-6 is distributed by “C-ko’s Distribution Service”
Stardust memories ends with 2 minutes of an episode of Sailor Moon by Arctic Animation from a TV source, as well as 30 seconds of a Sailor Moon episode dubbed.
I do not have the missing Gundam Wing episodes.
Some tapes have wildly different capture qualities when compared to others (poor video, “tinny” audio, etc.), this is a combination of degraded tapes, and the fact that these were transferred on four different capture setups on a time crunch.
Thanks to Inka-Subs for distribution help.
I am currently looking to complete my Rurouni Kenshin fansub collection. I have 1-60 in crap quality, and 9-24 + 33-36 + 53-56 + 77-end in wonderful (for VHS bootleg) quality, but would love to complete the show, as well as upgrade some of my crap rips. If you know where I could find anything, even if it’s like 240p RealMedia/DivX crap, please contact me via Discord or the AniDB Forums.
